Techniques and challenges
Children learn fundamental Taekwon-Do techniques and get to try breaking and special technique with jumping and flying kicks.
Free summer programme · ages 8–12
A free and active summer week for children who have not trained in Taekwon-Do before.
Over five days, participants spend three hours each day training, playing and building confidence. The purpose is to give children a safe summer activity with no course fee – and a positive first experience of ITF Taekwon-Do.

Content and teaching
Training is varied and designed for beginners. The discipline of martial arts is balanced with plenty of play, humour and room to try without pressure.

Self-defence, partner exercises and games are used to develop confidence, respect, communication and teamwork.
Courtesy, integrity, perseverance, self-control and indomitable spirit each provide a daily theme and are connected directly to the activities.
Inside the week
The photographs show how technique training, self-defence, play and challenges alternate throughout the week. The aim is not perfection, but taking part, trying and experiencing progress.

Development
What began as a new free summer initiative in 2025 has developed through experience, better equipment and more people supporting the children.

The first course showed that the combination of Taekwon-Do, play and clear values connected with the children. Participation and experience made continuing the project a natural next step.

A grant from the Gjensidige Foundation made it possible to invest in more equipment and involve young assistants. They received training in teaching and working with children before the course.
